Therefore, if sulfur components remain on the product during normal use, it can cause blackening, and even if it's just left unused, it can cause discoloration.

What situations require caution?

As explained above, it will turn black when it reacts with sulfur components, so first and foremost, be sure to remove it before entering a hot spring.
Next, while there are generally no problems with taking a normal bath or shower, there are rare cases where the shampoo or body wash you are using contains sulfur. Therefore, if you are concerned about sulfur content, it is safer to remove it before bathing.
Frequently asked questionsRegarding alcohol disinfection, there is no particular problem with it, so it is safe to use on hands wearing silver jewelry. Alcohol disinfectants are basically neutral, so they do not contain any ingredients that would cause discoloration of silver jewelry.

How should it be stored?

As mentioned earlier, the sulfur component that causes discoloration is also present in the air. Therefore, we recommend storing it in a resealable bag with a zipper whenever possible.
If stored in an environment where it is constantly exposed to air, it is not uncommon for items to discolor even if they are not being used.

What is the daily skincare routine?

Ideally, we recommend wiping off any dirt with a soft cloth (like a glasses cleaning cloth) after each use. GYPPHY silver products are basically made of sterling silver 925 with a tarnish-resistant coating, so polishing them with a silver polishing cloth containing abrasives will remove the coating. Therefore, if the coating remains, please be sure to maintain it with a soft cloth.
Once the anti-tarnish coating wears off and the original silver material's texture is revealed (the shiny look disappears and it becomes more matte), you can polish the tarnished areas with a silver polishing cloth.

What if a gold-plated (gold vermeil) item starts to tarnish?

For products with gold vermeil coating, we recommend wiping off any dirt with a soft cloth after each use as part of your daily care routine.
If tarnishing occurs, you can remove the discoloration by polishing it with a silver polishing cloth, just like with other silver products. In most cases, the discoloration is not due to the material itself tarnishing, but rather to dirt that has adhered to the surface and hardened, so the tarnished areas can be easily removed.
However, be careful not to polish too hard with a silver polishing cloth containing abrasives, as this may strip away the gold coating.

What are the care methods for when dark spots become noticeable?

Here are three simple maintenance methods you can do at home.

[How to use baking soda]
① Line a heat-resistant container with aluminum foil.
② Place the silver jewelry and baking soda on aluminum foil, pour in enough boiling water to completely submerge them, and let it sit for 3-5 minutes.
③ Rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.

[How to use salt]
① Line the pot with aluminum foil.
② APlace the silver jewelry on top of the Lumifoil and add water so that the entire piece is submerged.
③ Add salt and heat for a while.
④ Once the stain is removedRinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.

[How to use toothpaste]
① Take some toothpaste onto a soft cloth (like a glasses cleaning cloth).
② Gently polish silver jewelry.
③ Once the dirt is removed, rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.
