Recently, as moissanite has become more widely known, various problems have arisen. There have been cases of unscrupulous sales practices, such as selling moissanite as natural diamonds, or using artificial gemstones like zirconia as moissanite.

Moissanite possesses a unique charm that cannot be replaced by other gemstones, and at GYPPHY, we directly purchase genuine moissanite and commercialize it.

To ensure that our customers receive high-quality moissanite, we inspect each piece individually using a tester before shipping. (We use a PRESIDIUM® Multi Tester III.)

When moissanite is detected, the yellow area on the monitor lights up. Because moissanite is structurally similar to diamond, it is very often mistaken for a diamond (green light).

Why we use Moissanite.

The moissanite used by GYPPHY is sourced from a major semiconductor company in China.
There are two reasons for this, as follows:

Reason 1

This is because one of the materials used as a base material for semiconductors is made of the same silicon carbide (SiC) as moissanite, making it possible to reuse it, and as a result, high-quality material can be obtained.
GYPPHY's philosophy is based on ethical and sustainable jewelry, and in order to provide moissanite without using electrical energy, we receive surplus SiC from the company and use it to create gemstones.

Furthermore, because semiconductor materials are sensitive, high material purity is extremely important due to their properties. Since they are manufactured very carefully in a cleanroom completely free of dust, it's possible to obtain high-quality moissanite.

*Semiconductor circuit. It must be made of extremely high-quality moissanite (SiC) with very high purity.

SiC for semiconductors is difficult to manufacture and extremely expensive. Currently, there are few companies in the world that can produce SiC, and China is working on it as a national project, resulting in high-quality products.

Reason 2

Because it is a trustworthy company.
While moissanite is famously sourced from China and the United States, many American manufacturers actually import rough stones from China, cut them domestically, and then label them as American-made. GYPPHY believes that this makes it impossible to trace the origin of the moissanite, and therefore, we cannot responsibly provide it to our customers.
In today's world, where unscrupulous businesses are increasingly selling moissanite as natural diamonds and artificial gemstones such as zirconia as moissanite, we purchase directly from a trustworthy company that produces raw stones and is supported by the government, so that we can source our products with peace of mind and so that our customers can purchase with confidence.
