How to care for your jewelry

June 16, 2020

It's easy!
How to care for jewelry

Even the highest quality materials used in jewelry require daily care to maintain its beauty for a long time. Here are some simple care instructions to help you enjoy your jewelry for years to come.

<Daily care instructions>

~Storage method~
Jewelry can get scratched if it bumps into other things, so it's best to store each piece individually, perhaps in separate containers. If you don't have a dedicated jewelry box, you can store each piece in a small plastic bag.

Make it a habit to wipe them down immediately after removing them.
Discoloration and tarnishing of jewelry can be caused by various factors, including sebum, cosmetics, and dust. Taking the time to wipe away dirt with a soft cloth after wearing and before storing your jewelry will help it last longer, so please try to make it a habit.

~Situations where you should be careful~
We recommend removing your jewelry whenever it may get wet, such as when bathing, going to a hot spring, swimming in the sea, or swimming in a pool.
K18 and PT950 materials are particularly corrosion-resistant and therefore less prone to discoloration, but in rare cases, they may discolor due to a reaction with the metals used as alloying elements.
Furthermore, we recommend removing them before engaging in strenuous sports activities, as there is a risk of damage or deformation.

Items to prepare
• Neutral detergent (dish soap)
• Soft toothbrush
soft cloth
・Lukewarm water (Please be sure to prepare lukewarm water, not boiling water or cold water.)

① Soak it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
② Gently scrub with a soft toothbrush.
③ Rinse again with lukewarm water.
④ Wipe off any moisture with a soft cloth.

~Point~
The higher the gold content, the more easily it scratches and the more vulnerable it is to impact.
K18 is made of 75% gold, while K9 is made of 37.5% gold. Therefore, when washing K18, which has a higher gold content, you need to be especially careful not to scrub it too hard. Please take care of it gently.
The PT950 can also be cleaned using the method described above.

If you wear it every day and notice it's getting a little dirty, please try cleaning it yourself.
